- Line 3 六三3rd line · Yin負且乘，致寇至，貞吝。Carrying a burden on the back while riding in a carriage invites robbers; even steadfastness brings regret.
- Line 4 九四4th line · Yang解而拇，朋至斯孚。Loosen your big toe; then friends will come and have faith in you.
- Line 5 六五5th line · Yin君子惟有解，吉；有孚于小人。If the noble person can free himself, good fortune; this proves his sincerity even to the petty people.
- Line 6 上六Top line (6th) · Yin公用射隼，于高墉之上，獲之，無不利。The prince shoots a hawk on the high wall and catches it; nothing is unfavorable.
