📖 The Lines (爻辭 / Yaoci)
- Line 1 初六Bottom line (1st) · Yin進退，利武人之貞。Advancing and retreating; beneficial for the steadfastness of a warrior.
- Line 2 九二2nd line · Yang巽在牀下，用史巫紛若，吉無咎。Penetrating beneath the bed; he employs diviners and shamans in great number: good fortune, no fault.
- Line 3 九三3rd line · Yang頻巽，吝。Repeated penetration (compliance): regret.
- Line 4 六四4th line · Yin悔亡，田獲三品。Regret vanishes; in the hunt, one catches three kinds of game.
- Line 5 九五5th line · Yang貞吉悔亡，無不利。無初有終，先庚三日，後庚三日，吉。Steadfastness brings good fortune; regret vanishes; nothing is unfavorable. No beginning, but an end. Three days before the change, three days after the change: good fortune.
- Line 6 上九Top line (6th) · Yang巽在牀下，喪其資斧，貞凶。Penetrating beneath the bed; he loses his means and his axe; steadfastness brings misfortune.
