- Line 1 初九Bottom line (1st) · Yang震來虩虩，後笑言啞啞，吉。Thunder comes with trembling; afterward laughter and talk: good fortune.
- Line 2 六二2nd line · Yin震來厲，億喪貝，躋于九陵，勿逐，七日得。Thunder comes with danger; one may lose his treasure; climbing the ninefold hill; do not chase after it; in seven days it will be regained.
- Line 3 六三3rd line · Yin震蘇蘇，震行無眚。Thunder makes one dazed; if one acts through the thunder, no misfortune.
- Line 4 九四4th line · Yang震遂泥。Thunder falls into the mud.
- Line 5 六五5th line · Yin震往來厲，億無喪，有事。Thunder goes and comes, danger; yet nothing is lost; there is work to be done.
- Line 6 上六Top line (6th) · Yin震索索，視矍矍，征凶。震不于其躬，于其鄰，無咎。婚媾有言。Thunder makes him tremble and look around in terror; going forth brings misfortune. If he is on guard when it strikes only his neighbor and not himself, no fault. Regarding the marriage, there is gossip.
