- Line 1 初六Bottom line (1st) · Yin有孚不終，乃亂乃萃，若號一握為笑，勿恤，往無咎。Sincerity that is not carried through: now confusion, now gathering; if you call out, one clasp of the hand turns it to laughter; do not worry; going on, no fault.
- Line 2 六二2nd line · Yin引吉，無咎，孚乃利用禴。Being drawn along: good fortune, no fault; when sincere, even a small offering is beneficial.
- Line 3 六三3rd line · Yin萃如，嗟如，無攸利，往無咎，小吝。Gathering, yet sighing; nothing is favorable; going on is without fault, with slight regret.
- Line 4 九四4th line · Yang大吉，無咎。Supreme good fortune; no fault.
- Line 5 九五5th line · Yang萃有位，無咎。匪孚，元永貞，悔亡。Gathering with a position of rank; no fault. If some are not yet sincere, persevere in lasting steadfastness; regret vanishes.
- Line 6 上六Top line (6th) · Yin齎資涕洟，無咎。Sighing and weeping with tears and snot; no fault.
