- Line 1 初九Bottom line (1st) · Yang無妄，往吉。Innocence: going brings good fortune.
- Line 2 六二2nd line · Yin不耕穫，不菑畬，則利有攸往。Not plowing yet harvesting, not clearing yet farming; then it is beneficial to have somewhere to go.
- Line 3 六三3rd line · Yin無妄之災，或繫之牛，行人之得，邑人之災。Unexpected calamity: a cow tied up by someone is taken by a passerby, and the townspeople bear the loss.
- Line 4 九四4th line · Yang可貞，無咎。One can remain steadfast; no fault.
- Line 5 九五5th line · Yang無妄之疾，勿藥有喜。An unexpected illness: do not take medicine, and there will be joy.
- Line 6 上九Top line (6th) · Yang無妄，行有眚，無攸利。Innocence, yet acting brings error; nothing is favorable.
